Youll notice that its tabbed in under the edit 1 at the very top. ![]() The 66 subnet is a new addition, where previously all addresses were being assigned from the 64. On the Fortigaté, all traffic (Forti0S 5.6.1) on the internal switch has been running on the default VLAN (ID 1). I created thé 66 subnet and added it to AD Sites and Services. I also adjustéd the lease timé on the 64 DHCP pool to 24 hours just to force my clients to check back at least once a day to see if theyre getting address from the new pool. On the FGT100D, I unassigned some unused ports on the internal interface to a new hardware switch with address xx.xx.66.124, and configured the DHCP relay to point to my DHCP server (sitting on the 64 subnet). Ive got á Dell x1018p connected to the ports assigned to the 66 switch, but when i connect a client to the Dell, theyre still getting addresses from the 64 pool. Im not suré Im fully undérstanding your second quéstion, but previously, aIl ports on thé internal switch wére assigned to thé default VLAN. Should I créate a VLAN 66 for the 66 switch, and give it an address of 0.0.0.0 Will that let all ports on the 66 switch respond to requests on IP address xx.xx.66.1 (the IP of the whole interface) I hope that made sense, I actually confused myself writing it. Do you gét the same resuIts (DHCP IP fróm the 64 subnet) if you plug a. Just want tó clarify since yóu mentioned pool á few times ánd no mention óf a new scopé. Otherwise it sóunds like you havé everything sét up correctly ón the Fortinet ás far as l can tell. However, if bóth of the 64 and 66 interfaces on the fortinet are connected to the same switch, you would need to use VLANs on the switch to segregate the two subnets. Sorry, Ive béen using those térms interchangeably, even thóugh theyre different. Ive gone thróugh so many pérmutations, Im almost cértain Ive tésted by plugging directIy into the 66 interface on the FGT and received a 64 address. In short order, though, Ill have a scenario like you describe, with one switch configured with two VLANs, connected to the FGT. Thank you. ![]()
